It is a new week, new paycheck and new bills.

Now we see why they carried over the exact amount they did.

Her paycheck plus the carryover amount is exactly what they need for this week.

$650 available minus the normal expenses minus the additional bills due leaves them with exactly zero at the end of the week.

They knew to carry over exactly $325 because they created this budget ahead of time. As they figured out the amounts to give each category last week, they figured out the amounts for this week at the same time.

They managed to take care of themselves, give and pay all of their bills by budgeting.

Important! – What would have happened if they had not planned how to spend their money? They likely would have spent all that “extra” carry over money and had none left to pay rent and the other bills and still eat! They avoided a crisis by budgeting their money.
